DOWNTOWN EVENTS
Downtown activities are a cherished tradition during Laramie Jubilee Days. Over the years, these activities have evolved significantly, but certain events have become mainstays. Among them are the Downtown Street Dances, held from Thursday to Saturday nights, which have consistently drawn large crowds. Additionally, downtown stores always plan daytime activities that the whole family can enjoy.
Wyoming Statehood Day Celebration

The Wyoming Statehood Day Celebration will be at the Wyoming Territorial Prison Park. Laramie Jubilee Days was established as Wyoming’s Hometown Celebration for the sole purpose of celebrating Wyoming becoming a state on July 10, 1890. Laramie’s first celebration took place on the 50th anniversary of statehood day, in 1940. Since then, Laramie Jubilee Days has celebrated statehood day and July 10th is incorporated into the dates of the celebration every year.

Pancake Breakfast

The Pancake Breakfast has been a staple during Laramie Jubilee Days for decades. It went away for a few years before being taken up by The Soup Kitchen. Since then, families find themselves enjoying the fabulous free breakfast on the lawn at St. Matthews before going about their day.
Betty Kiser Memorial CASI Chili Cookoff

Do you have a secret, award winning chili recipe? We need you! Bring your crew and your recipe downtown and compete with other local and regional chili aficionados in the CASI sanctioned Betty Kiser Memorial Chili Cookoff. CASI, or Chili Appreciation Society International, has been around for over 50 years. Did you know that some pretty famous people are associated with CASI? Carroll Shelby, best known for fast cars (Cobra and Shelby Mustangs), has been an integral part of CASI’s past as well. He was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1974.

Bring the family to watch the Laramie Jubilee Days parade! Every year, the Laramie Jubilee Days Parade graces the streets of Laramie. Typically, you will see 85+ entries roll down the street, often delivering candy and other goodies to the people lining the street. Remember to bring bags to collect all the goodies handed out by the floats. Marching bands, fire trucks, and lots and lots of businesses and organizations are slated to participate.
